I’ve been blogging about Bali, my last destination, but I’m off again in a couple of weeks to somewhere completely different, Switzerland. I’m going to explore Zermatt among other places and will spend time hiking in the Swiss Alps.
So for all you walkers watch the space as this could be your next hiking destination.
Zermatt is possibly better known for its great skiing but it’s also famous for its hiking, from day walks to more serious hikes, with over 400 kilometres of trails. The quaint, romantic town is surrounded by exceptional scenery with 38 imposing, 4,000-metre peaks but the showstopper amid this myriad of snow-capped peaks is the gran-daddy of them all, the Matterhorn. I won’t be climbing it but I can’t wait to see it.
Happy travels. Looking forward to hearing all about your major trip being the only New Zealand travel writer invited. Go girl!
