Everything they say about the Swiss Travel System is true – it’s the best

Last year I travelled around Switzerland with a Swiss Travel Pass which means unlimited travel on all public transport including buses, trams, trains and boats. This cost-effective ticket makes travelling in Switzerland a breeze.

I particularly enjoy the longer train trips as I love nothing more than sitting back, gazing out the window and getting into the rhythm of the train. I travelled through several cantons from Zürich to Zermatt, then on the Glacier Express to St Moritz. The trains are clean, modern and you guessed it, they depart and arrive on time.

Swiss Travel System has just launched a new product range for 2015.

Transport within Zürich and 74 other towns and cities is included in the Swiss Travel Pass

The Swiss Travel Pass can be purchased for 3, 4, 8 or 15 days providing unlimited travel on all public transport.

It also includes:

  • Free travel on most panoramic trips like the Glacier Express
  • Free admission to more than 480 museums
  • 50% discount off most mountain railways
  • Children under the age of 16 travel free of charge when accompanied by at least one parent holding a Swiss Family Card

Just purchase online and print at home.

Many mountain railways including the Gornergrat Bahn in Zermatt, are half price with a Swiss Travel Pass

There is also the Swiss Travel Plan Flex for visitors looking for flexible travel days. It’s the same deal and can be purchased for 3, 4, 8 or 15 days but can be used over one month, offering greater flexibility.
