Los Angeles, the so called under dog of it’s big brother and sister, New York and San Francesco – not.
So far we’re impressed.
Twenty minutes from the airport, we are in West Hollywood at the understated and beautiful, quirky Mondrian Hotel.
Over looking the city, the pool area is strewn with scantily dressed, relaxed, beautiful young people, soaking up the sun on this 28 degrees spring day.
It’s intimacy is almost intimidating with no loungers, just day beds with couple and groups chatting.
Our room has a large orange scallop shaped mirror in the centre with the TV on the reverse. It swivels on a large back pole. A sumptuous day bed, with a stunning back and white headboard at one end of the room is mimicked at the other end of the room with our super king bed.
The bathroom, kitchenette and desk are separated with and translucent fine organza fabric.
We are going to eat here tomorrow night so watch the space.
The hotel looks amazing, can’t wait to be taken for a visit.
